Description Nathanael Hoyle 2005-08-12 18:25:09 UTC
Currently, kasablanca, an FTP/FXP client for KDE exhibits behavior that while
not "wrong" is probably a burden to a number of users besides myself. Let's say
you are in directory A in the left-hand side (local or remote), and directory B
on the right-hand side, and wish to transfer several nested directories showing
on the RHS pane to the LHS. You highlight them and click the arrow to transfer.
They transfer properly, but at the end of the transfer the current working
directory displayed on both the LHS and RHS is whatever nested subdirectory
within directories A and B respectively that files were last transferred within.
I.e., you're not still working in the same directory as you were when you
initiated the transfer but rather a subdirectory thereof. As said, not a bug,
but I would like to propose as a feature request that both the LHS and RHS
working directories are remembered when a transfer is begun and restored to the
active directories upon transfer completion.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge kasablanca (not affected here by any USE flags)
2. launch kasablanca normally (command-line or via KDE menu)
3. use kasablanca to transfer one or more folders (from outside the folder, not
merely all the individual files within it, i.e. a folder will be created at the
destination end).

Actual Results:
kasablanca remains in the last directories within which files were transferred.

Expected Results:
return to the point in the filesystem/directory tree where you were when you
iniated the transfer.

Should be irrelevant, but emerge info:

Same as bug 102304, this is not Gentoo specific, so the best thing to do is to
report it to the author of kasablanca.
