Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
Clean machine, did a stage 1 installation from 2005.0

make.conf looks like this:
##
CFLAGS="-O3 -march=opteron -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j3"
USE="-f77 -fortran -joystick -matrox -lirc -hyperwave-api -oracle -oracle7 -msql
-mssql nocardbus nptl -oci8 -pda -pfpro"
##

Tried to install X11 by doing
emerge --sync
emerge xorg-x11
emerge kde

Comment 2 Wolfgang Formann 2005-08-13 04:32:10 UTC
Sorry guys. Although the machine is not a home-build box (its a Sun W2100z),
there seem to be a problem somewhere else. I tried again and got different errors.

Either some obscure combination in the kernel configuration or a real memory
problem.

Closing this bug.
