As the maintainer seems unavailable, no one can tell me something about him and his last activities date a bit back, I cc arches. Unfortunately in bug #113876 exists still a problem which seem to persist since several versions...the above bug report contains a workaround for affected users. On the other hand a different bug (closed its window, damn) will be fixed by this.
ppc stable
Uhm, right now I see an open bug that leads to a crash, the probability there might be some bug out there that is fixed by this (though i couldn't find it), no request from the maintainer / herd to stabilise this... Not really meeting the criteria to go stable on amd64. Please readd us when this is sorted out.
I agree with Michael - we do not want (even more) known crashers in stable.
Marking later.
