Due to quite a few requests to reopen our gentoo mirror, I've completed sync of the Gentoo mirror achive today. The mirror is located at: http://mirror.uni-c.dk/pub/gentoo (or just /gentoo for historcal reasons). Ftp access will not be avaiable. The server is connected with 100 mbit/s and has no traffic limitations. Currently I'm excluding the historical archive. The server is set to sync twice a day. UNI-C, The Danish IT Centre for Education and Research Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Does this mirror support IPv6? Is the initial rsync still in progress? The 2005.1 release files aren't there...
It should support IPv6, I haven't tested it however. IPv6 is only used for some NetBSD services the server is hosting, but Apache is configured to use IPv6. However I can't test if the site works on IPv6 currently. The final update process seems to take quite a while longer than expected. The throughput to the mastermirror is about 10-15 kB/s, so there'll be a small delay. I'll update this ticket once the mirror is synced.
I can confirm that the mirror works with IPv6.
Should be fully updated now. I'm currently using ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de to mirror from.
I am about to begin the process of moving back to my university, at which point I will be able to more completely deal with mirror bugs. This should be happening within the next 7-8 days. At that point I will be attempting to clear up all the outstanding mirror bugs. Thanks for your patience. -Jeffrey
Jeffrey, any progress on this?
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml. Please start synching from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
Thanks! I've updated the rsync host in the sync script and confirmed that it works. I think this repport can be closed. /Rasmus
