"merged in the xorg"  into

In Code Listing 2.1, consider adding space between comments to increase readability

"please refer to the Gentoo Desktop Documentation Resources"  links to the
Resources page, but why not directly to
"http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/xorg-config.xml" as it would save one step for
the user; only problem I can see is if the maintainers prefer to not hard link
in case of changes.
