My problem: I am starting xorg-x11-6.8.2-r2 / fluxbox-0.9.13-r1. When quitting X, the console does not show up again. The screen is just blank. If I login via SSH and "startx", X starts fine again and works. I can even change to a normal console via ctrl-alt-f2 from within X, but if I exit X, the screens turns black. Well - it says /usr/lib/modules/libvbe.a is unresolved, but I don't know how to fix that...I already searched the forums but couldn't fix this error. startx: X Window System Version 6.8.2 Release Date: 9 February 2005 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.8.2 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.11-gentoo-r8 i686 [ELF] Current Operating System: Linux lato 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 #1 Sun Jul 24 23:24:15 Local time zone must be set--see zic manu i586 Build Date: 25 July 2005 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.X.Org to make sure that you have the latest version. Try building xorg with USE=dlloader.
Ok, trying right now...I hope this will work, because compiling takes AGES on the k6...
(In reply to comment #2) > Ok, trying right now...I hope this will work, because compiling takes AGES on > the k6... You might like to install ccache, if it's not.
It works perfectly now :) Thank you very much. Also thanks for the tip with ccache, but the laptops harddisk is very small and there is not much space left; if I have to compile a long time, I usually remove the harddisk from my laptop and use it with an USB Adapter with my Athlon XP 2600, but at the moment my girlfriend is here and I prefered to wait ;) I never heard of "dlloader"... strange... I'll seek for information later.
