emerge --info missing, ebuild version missing as well. And please, set
LC_MESSAGES to C when reporting bugs.

please test again with net-libs/wvstreams-4.0.2-r1. 
I've tried to reproduce the bug (unsuccessfully) by using gcc-3.4.4.

if it still happens, post here the the errors translated in English.
