Description Nathan Sullivan 2005-08-05 23:03:25 UTC
when executing firefox from a terminal, the output in the URL provided occurs,
produces a segv. The backtrace is minimal, gdb wouldnt give much more. I can
reproduce this bug every single time i execute, same error. I have tried at
least 3-4 ebuilds from 1.0.5 upwards, no success so far. Let me know if anyone
needs more info.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mozilla-firefox
2. firefox
3. segv occurs

Actual Results:
SIGSEGV

Expected Results:
A firefox window going to Firefox Start... :)

emerge info is in the URL provided.

glibc and firefox try glibc-2.3.5-r1 with USE=-linuxthreads-tls and report back.

ok...done a few things, ran anarchy@gentoo's glibc pkg, got that on here now
(2.3.5), still had no luck, then i put morfic@gentoo's mozilla-firefox pkg on
here (since anarchy's had +gnome and i didnt want it), and it loaded up. morfic
can you please stick your emerge -pv mozilla-firefox here for reference?
Comment 7 Jory A. Pratt 2005-08-06 23:14:05 UTC
Appears to have been caused by broken glibc ... possible use of DEBUG use flag
as well. If problem shows feel free to reopen.
