Can you please try again without any CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS set? Thanks.
Okay - it compiled with CFLAGS="" and CXXFLAGS="", then again with both set to "-O2 -march=pentium3 -mmmx -msse -msse2 -mfpmath=sse -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" - so it looks as if mono doesn't like -fprefetch-loops-arrays with Pentium III optimisations. My machine is actually a Pentium-M, and compiling with Pentium4 optimisations wasn't a problem even with -fprefetch-loop-arrays. Perhaps this flag should be filtered in the ebuild for -march=pentium3 only?
I've been enable to reproduce that, with the same CFLAGS as you have listed there. Is this still the case with mono-1.1.9.*?
I've now got mono-1.1.9.1 installed, and that went in just fine. /var/db/pkg/dev-lang/mono-1.1.9.1/CFLAGS contains: -O2 -march=pentium3 -fprefetch-loop-arrays -pipe ... so I guess that it's fixed! Thanks
Ok, marking this FIXED then. Thanks.
