Description Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-02 23:05:00 UTC
When emerging tetex 3.0-r2 as is, the command texdoctk does not work because of
a missing TK.pm
Emerging the package perl-TK helped and should be added to the dependencies if
tcltk use flag is set.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Confirmed. The package needed before perltk is used is 'dev-perl/perl-tk'.

Fixed in CVS. Thanks for reporting!

this is an invalid fix

Can you please wrap this dependency in a "tcltk" USE flag or something. On a headless hardened box with no X, I should be able to run tetex without needing the spurious X stuff.
Comment 5 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-14 05:38:21 UTC
(the X stuff, incidentally, gets pulled in by tk, which requires it).
Comment 6 Martin Ehmsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-14 05:41:37 UTC
Ups! I overlooked the X part!
I don't like using another USE flag jsut for this, but on the other hand using the X use flag for wrapping this means that user get the Tcl/Tk stuff by just having the X use flag.
Any thoughts?
Comment 7 Martin Ehmsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-14 05:48:38 UTC
Never mind, I'll just use the tcltk USE flag.... fixed in CVS.
The meaning kind of overlap with the X USE flag for this ebuild.
Sorry for the mess!
