Description Stephen Torri 2005-08-01 10:18:10 UTC
On a x86 box I own I tried to upgrade glibc-2.3.5 using distcc via emerge. The
build fails at tst-alignmod2.c. The participating system is used gcc 3.4.4 while
the target system is using gcc 3.3.5.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -auDv glic

Full error of build problem

I am suspect that the problem is the use of the two different GCC versions.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-01 10:23:42 UTC
glibc has been failing some tests for a long time. However,

- never put fPIC into your C[XX]FLAGS
- don't mix different gcc versions with distcc
