Description Jesse D. Guardiani 2005-07-31 21:28:59 UTC
Hi!

Please find attached mod_caml-1.3.6.ebuild, a patch against mod_caml-1.3.6
allowing it to compile against Apache 2.0.54 properly, along with
70_mod_caml.conf and mod_caml.conf, necessary for mod_caml to be loaded at runtime.

mod_caml is a set of Objective CAML (OCaml) bindings for the Apache API. It
allows you to run CGI scripts written in OCaml directly inside the Apache
webserver. It basically does for OCaml what mod_perl does for Perl.

I suggest dev-ml/mod_caml

Also, this ebuild depends on bug 100961 (external PCRE patch for Apache2)
previously submitted.

I adapted this ebuild from mod_php's 4.4.0 ebuild. mod_caml itself doesn't have
any trouble with Apache 1.x, and this ebuild was written to support both Apache
1.x and 2.x, but this ebuild has only been tested with Apache 2.x at this point.
Any testing would be appreciated.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)
'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached
to this bug.
This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the
main tree.

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us.
We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.

This no longer compiles against our apache, and I think upstream disappeared. Suggesting CANTFIX, unfortunately.
Comment 7 Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2014-10-19 00:39:36 UTC
Ok, there's been no progress on an apache2 port, and upstream has been dead for years. I'm going to take the initiative and close this as unfixable. If anyone thinks I've made a huge mistake, go ahead and reopen it.
