Description Jim Laflin 2005-07-29 17:48:15 UTC
games-arcade/ppracer-0.3.1 won't play in-game music if
media-libs/sdl-mixer-1.2.6 is installed

As it gives following error
%%% ppracer warning: FAILED to load music file music/start1-jt.it: Unrecognized
music format
%%% ppracer warning: FAILED to load music file music/options1-jt.it:
Unrecognized music format
%%% ppracer warning: FAILED to load music file music/race1-jt.it: Unrecognized
music format
%%% ppracer warning: FAILED to load music file music/wonrace1-jt.it:
Unrecognized music format

If I downgrade to media-libs/sdl-mixer-1.2.5-r1 the game runs perfectly well,
with music and no errors

I had a suspision that this could be related to bug #99590 but it isn't, as
running ppracer as root doesn't fix the problem (gives the same "unrecognized
music format" errors and plays no music)

Comment 1 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-30 00:27:39 UTC
you need mikmod in your use flags.
Comment 2 Jim Laflin 2005-07-31 02:38:31 UTC
Thanks for that, works fine.

I trust INVALID is the correct resolution for this.
