Just wanted to post an update to this bug. I have been unable to repond either here or on the forums over the last several weeks as a result of some time consuming changes at work that has required my full attention. I believe that things have settled down now and I can continue this process. Thanks!

Unluckily Aaron didn't have more time and may not have any time soon, so we should officially retire him - he has a @gentoo.org email address and probably some other stuff that needs to be turned off, too. Aaron, thanks for all the time you were on the forums, your work is greatly appreciated.
