there is a message if i try to add the appletclock: The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet". Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration? sorry, that's all I can tell. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a panel 2. -> 'Add to Panel' 3. -> Clock (Get the current time and date) Actual Results: vgl. Details the error message: The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet". Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration? Expected Results: a clock in the panel should appear.
post your emerge info. Also, what happens when you do emerge -av gnome-applets? Does it show any blockers? Have you restarted X since you last upgraded your packs?

[ebuild R ] gnome-base/gnome-applets-2.10.1 -acpi +apm -debug -doc +gstreamer +ipv6 0 kB Total size of downloads: 0 kB Do you want me to merge these packages? [Yes/No]
could you post emerge -av gnome-panel, do you have eds in your use flags for that? If you had posted your emerge info as requested, I would know the answer to this already. If you don't have evolution installed, and have the eds use flag set, try emerging gnome-panel w/o the eds use flag. Thanks!
I emerged gnome-panel w/o eds and now it works. thank you.
needed to emerge gnome-panel w/o eds use flag set.
