there is a message if i try to add the appletclock:

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet".
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

sorry, that's all I can tell.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a panel
2. -> 'Add to Panel'
3. -> Clock (Get the current time and date)

Actual Results:  
vgl. Details

the error message:
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet".
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

Expected Results:  
a clock in the panel should appear.

post your emerge info.

Also, what happens when you do emerge -av gnome-applets?  Does it show any
blockers?  Have you restarted X since you last upgraded your packs?

yes, i restarted X and the message:

could you post emerge -av gnome-panel, do you have eds in your use flags for that?  

If you had posted your emerge info as requested, I would know the answer to this
already.

If you don't have evolution installed, and have the eds use flag set, try
emerging gnome-panel w/o the eds use flag.
