Hi, 
 
I found that the pstex support is not included in the tetex installation of 
the Gentoo distribution. It's mainly used to combine LaTeX with figures made 
with xfig and it's more than widely used in techs and research departments. 
The lack of this pacakge is critical for people who have to publish documents 
made with LaTeX.

The new tetex packages has pslatex included ... so forget about that :-)
