Description Arne Bargheer 2005-07-25 08:23:27 UTC
The possibility to cope the location of a file to the clipboard

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

When just sitting and looking for a picture to attach to a mail I got a bit
annoyed by having to first find the picture, then remember it's location and
from there on again find the location through the browse window in my mail client.

I think it would be a really cool feature if I could ask gqview to just copy the
location of the file in pure text format to the clipboard and then use it to
paste it into the browse window.
I think this feature could be useful for other things too.

If I could I would myself program it, but I lack the programming skills at the
moment.

Feature requests need to be directed upstream.

You can do this with Preferences, Editors and then enter the command to attach
an image to a new message in your mailer.
With pine, for example, "pine <email> -attach %f" works.

OK, thanks for redirecting me.
I guess the thing that made me post this on gentoo bugzilla list is this little
part of this weeks Gentoo newsletter:

> Over time, other things like feature requests and version bumps were also
tracked as bugs since Bugzilla makes it quite easy.

And thanks for the trick with the mailprograms, I'll try that
It just doesn't work with gmail online or similiar types of webmail, pine is
surely a step ahead.
I'll try if I can't get the same thing working with Thunderbird.
