Comment 2 Pieterjan Heyse 2002-10-31 17:16:29 UTC
ok, so I run the command scripts/bootstrap.sh

I cannot copy paste output, as I am in stage 1, but here are some typed lines :

exporting HTTP_PROXY=http://my.proxy.com:8080
Calculating dependencies !!! Name error in : category or package part missing.
Traceback(;ost recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 1220, in ?
mykey=portage.db[portage.root]["porttree"].dep_bestmatch(mypkg)
Files "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/portage.py",line 2096, in dep_bestmatch
if not self.hasnode(mykey)

and this goes on for a while.

the same error occurs when I run emerge portage

System specs :
AMD 750
all on logical partitions, reiserFS as / , ext 2 as /boot , swap. ( /dev/hda6-7-

export_proxy syntax error, my mistake sorry
Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:40 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
