Description Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-25 04:40:39 UTC
Pete (rendhalver) has expressed an interest in rejoining the Gentoo project
under the umbrella of the perl herd. Pete's been working with me on the mod_perl
and perl related maintenance of late. Please advise to what step I should take
following this bug report (quiz, obviously - but I've never guided a young jedi
before :)
Comment 1 Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-29 06:13:47 UTC
Updating the bug per the devrel guide (sorry I screwed this up originally).

Peter is a formerly retired developer interested in rejoining the Gentoo project
in support of maintaining the perl herd. Peter has been assisting with
correcting our current mess of mod_perl and libapreq bugs, as well as other
apache related perl items.

I (mcummings) will be acting as Peter's returning mentor.

There is no prior recruitment bug for Peter since he was a developer prior to
this process.

Peter,

Seeing as Michael has now retired, please find another mentor from the perl
herd. Also, have you sent your completed quizzes in?

anymore.

Beu is doing perl stuff now and might be able/want to mentor you.

cool.
thanks i shall go find him on irc and ask.

Seeing as no-one actually knows where beu is, and rac is on extended leave due
to his job, we've basically got no-one in the perl herd.

Peter, I'm going to try to find you another mentor for you, and then you can get
your quizzes in as soon as possible because we're well past the due date.

*sigh*
yeah sorry about the delays on this guys.
i recently moved and i havent had any real net access for about 6-8 weeks and i have been distracted
as well.
i am going to organise net access soon and and i shall see ahwt i can do after that.
Comment 8 Alex Howells (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-07 06:11:16 UTC
We've had about eight weeks pass, is there any movement on this? Anyone stepping forward to offer some mentoring, does Peter have internet access sorted / is he still interested in returning to the Gentoo insanity? :)

yeah i do have net access again.
the problem is that i am starting a business and don't know how much time i will be able to devote to gentoo.
it depends on how i go with things and what happens with the business.
maybe its best if i concentrate on that for a while.
sorry for all the hastles guys.
