esound-0.2.36 installs "esd.conf" in
/var/tmp/portage/esound-0.2.36/image/etc/esd/. Patch for the ebuild follows (it
simply removes the "sysconfdir=${D}/etc/esd" on make install, which probably was
needed by previous versions but is no more).

Thanks for reporting this. esound-0.2.36-r1 includes the fix.
