Description Shyam Mani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-24 12:19:32 UTC
My mouse started "framing" on the console and X after switching to
gentoo-sources-2.6.12-r* (3,4,6). When I fallback to 2.6.11-r9 things are fine.
Overall the system seems fine, only the mouse frames all over the place. gpm
settings don't seem to change anything and the framing is equally bad across the
console and X.

I'm about to try vanilla-sources to see if I can reproduce the issue there. Will
report back if I find anything.
Comment 1 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-29 03:42:33 UTC
Any progress on testing vanilla-sources? Best idea is to test 2.6.13-rc4
Comment 2 Shyam Mani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-29 04:28:00 UTC
I was halfway thru configuring rc3...I think I'll get rc4 and then test. If
rc4's on Portage, then I should have something to report back in a couple of
hours or so.
Comment 3 Shyam Mani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-30 09:42:12 UTC
The problem is not present in vanilla-sources-2.6.13-rc3. Will post dmesg and
/proc/interrupts info from both kernels as requested by Daniel.

interrupts, 2.6.12-gentoo-r6

Do let me know if you need anything else. I don't see any major difference b/w
the dmesg and /proc/interrupts of the two...
Comment 8 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-30 10:48:34 UTC
Can't see what might have fixed it. Waiting for 2.6.13.
Comment 9 Shyam Mani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-01 09:00:18 UTC
FYI 2.6.13-rc4 is fine too (as expected...)
Comment 10 Shyam Mani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-28 01:56:25 UTC
FYI again, I was trying out SLAX from http://slax.linux-live.org/ and

root@slax:~# uname -a
Linux slax 2.6.12.2 #1 SMP Sun Jul 3 23:44:06 GMT 2005 i686 unknown unknown
GNU/Linux

Has this exact same issue. So this seems like a 2.6.12.x issue and might not be
limited to gentoo-sources...

gentoo-sources-2.6.13 now in portage
