I've apache-2.0.54-r11 and mod_php-5.0.4. Once I've updated libxml2 from version 2.6.17 to 2.1.19 the XML support on mod_php stopped working. Apache logs report a segmentation fault every time I try to load a PHP5 script that have some kind of DOM XML handling. Reinstalling the 2.6.17 version of the library all works correctly. The same happens with mod_php-5.1beta. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install apache-2.0.54-r11 and mod_php-5.0.4 using libxml2-2.6.19 2. Start Apache2 and try to load a PHP5 script with DOM XML instructions 3. See Apache logs Actual Results: Apache reports segmentation faults. Expected Results: All works correctly has happens with libxml2-2.6.17.
Working here with: [ebuild R ] dev-php/mod_php-5.0.4 [ebuild R ] dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.19 [ebuild R ] net-www/apache-2.0.54-r11
This is supposed to be fixed in libxml2-2.6.20, which is not yet in portage.
Please test with libxml2-2.6.20, which is now in portage. PHP 5.1.0 Beta 3 built against libxml2-2.6.20 worked fine for me.
The latest version of both packages works fine also for me. I hope libxml2-2.6.20 to become marked stable soon. Thanks.
Solved by libxml2-2.6.20.
