Description Chris Chaffey 2005-05-16 12:01:38 UTC
emerge courier-authlib:
Linking authdaemontest
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /var/vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.a(vpopmail.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

Added -fPIC to make.conf and emerged vpopmail and courier-authlib(included this compile line because it seems like there is a relocation error in glibc):
Linking authdaemontest
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /var/vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.a(cdb_seek.o): relocation R_X86_64_PC32 against `read@@GLIBC_2.2.5' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge courier-authlib
2.
3.

Actual Results:
compiles - doesn't link

Expected Results:
compile and link

Please use "New -> Gentoo Linux -> Component: Ebuilds" in future. Infrastructure is not the correct addressee.
