I'm sure the intentions behind removing the 4.1 fonts were good (4.2 is in
portage), but Gecko uses them to render MathML by default.

Er, looking at the changelog, 4.1 was never there. whoops.

Also, I should link the Mozilla page about this. It's quite specific about needing 4.1

This is a tarball that includes the manifest. I'm including it because the
fetch restriction is a pain.

The alternative is to make Mozilla happy with the 4.2 fonts. See bug 52014,

I'm not going to add 4.1 fonts as you suggested in comment #5.
