Description:   Opened: 2005-05-06 02:20 0000
Portuguese language is spelled 'Portugese' in Lyx definitions. This causes all
calls to spellchecker (aspell, ispell, hspell) to fail to recognize the
language.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open document settings
2.Choose language
3.Choose 'Portugese'
4. Press F7 to call the spellchecker

Actual Results:
Alert pop-up says:
'The spell-checker has failled.
The file /usr/lib/aspell/portuges can not be opened for reading.'

Expected Results:
Run the spell-checker file /usr/lib/aspell/portugues (or the corresponding
ispell, hspell files, depending on dictionary definitions).

------- Comment #1 From Rui Vilela 2005-07-04 02:47:18 0000 -------
This is due to old compactibility issues with string length used on Babel. The
correct form should be portuguese. I don't know solution, just clue

------- Comment #2 From Martin Ehmsen (RETIRED) 2006-05-20 14:43:04 0000 -------
There is a open bug upstream about this.
There is also described a work-around.

------- Comment #3 From NR 2006-05-20 15:41:47 0000 -------
There is a simple but lazy workaround I've used with aspell:
I've created the file '/usr/lib/aspell/portuges.alias' by copying one of the
already existing aliases for the language.
This way the spellchecker finds what it needs.
Is not a solution, is not pretty, but it works while this thing is not fixed in
Lyx itself.

------- Comment #4 From pavel sanda 2007-05-06 23:13:23 0000 -------
This problem should be fixed in 1.5.0.

------- Comment #5 From Jakub Moc (RETIRED) 2007-10-14 08:10:45 0000 -------
1.5.1 in the tree -> FIXED.
