Install on Athlon 1700+ xp,1Gb ram, 120Gb IDE disk partitioned hda1=/boot,hda2=swap,hda3=extended,hda5=/(logical),hda6=/home(logical) This was a stage3 install using minimal CD, had previously tried several stage2 installs, each breaking when compiling "emerge -emptytree system", never at the same point though. Have run memtest86, which did not show any errors The actual error generated is: "The bug is not reproducible, so it is likely a hardware or os problem make[2]: *** [drivers/input/serio/i8042.o] Error1 make[1]: *** [drivers/input/serio] Error2 make: *** [drivers] Error2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Compile 2. 3.
