The Manifest files in this repository are using obsolete hashes RMD160 or WHIRLPOOL.  Please update to newer Manifest hashes to avoid problems with newer package managers.  For more information, see the tracker blocked by this bug.

Thanks so much for the heads up, @mgorny. You were *totally* right; the manifest for a single neglected pre-pandemic ebuild embedded obsolete WHIRLPOOL hashes. I solved everything by destroying everything. If it no longer compiles, it is dead to me. \o/
