Description Alexey Maximov 2005-04-19 18:51:16 UTC
if I compile latest bzip2

and next if I trying download files with deltup, I got

100%[==================================================================================>] 232,913        3.05K/s    ETA 00:00

08:38:24 (3.29 KB/s) - `nautilus-2.10.0.tar.bz2-nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2.dtu' saved [232913/232913]

GOT nautilus-2.10.0.tar.bz2-nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2.dtu

Successfully fetched the dtu-file - let's build nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2...

nautilus-2.10.0.tar.bz2 -> nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2: OK
cleaning up
This dtu-file saved 5 MB (96%) download size.

!!! Fetched file: nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2 VERIFY FAILED!
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
Removing corrupt distfile...
>>> Downloading http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/nautilus-2.10.1.tar.bz2
Searching for a previously downloaded file in /usr/portage/distfiles

etc.. cycled...

but if I immediatly recompile it - rollback to OLD version
emerge =app-arch/bzip2-1.0.2-r5

and trying emerge with deltup now - its ok

Comment 1 Alexey Maximov 2005-04-19 19:06:28 UTC
so if new compression used and packing now more efficiency, it must be implemented in bzip2 as new option, not by default, b/c it will break everything what is depended to md5 and bzip2

PLEASE, mask it now, globally, until new fixes to bzip2 come
