Description Francesco Lamonica 2005-04-19 15:59:04 UTC
whenever compiling a package configure complains with the following warning:

./configure --prefix=/usr --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --libdir=/usr/lib64 --without-tcl --without-tk
configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host.
If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used.

setting the --build switch (in addition to host) to x86_64-pc-linux-gnu will solve the issue.

Comment 1 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-20 07:18:14 UTC
Note, the fix will only affect ebuilds that use econf directly or indirectly.
Comment 2 Henrik Brix Andersen 2005-05-15 05:50:27 UTC
I believe this has been fixed already?
Comment 3 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-15 06:01:46 UTC
Yes, but it's not yet stabled.
Comment 4 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 05:47:40 UTC
Fixed on or before 2.0.51.22-r1
Comment 5 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 06:58:27 UTC
Looking through the batch of bugs, I'm not sure that some of these are
actually fixed in stable. Others, the requirements have possibly changed after
the initial fix was committed.
