Using splash-themes-livecd-2005.0 on two systems, both have fbsplash-0.9.2 and splashutils-1.1.9.3, I get the same problem: the progress bar occasionally jumps backwards and forward. It gives something like: 0% - 9% - 14% - 19% - 23% - 29% - 19% - 29% - 33% - 19% - 33% - 35% ... etc... (just an example). Another problem is that at some point in the boot, the screen becomes completely blank (sometimes the progress bar is till visible, but the background is black), and I have to go to verbose mode and back to silent mode, to fix it. And by the way F2 goes to verbose mode but doesn't go back to silent mode.
