I try to emerge grub-0.96, it says I need to use=multilib, features=-sandbox, so I have USE=multilib FEATURES=-sandbox emerge --update --deep --newuse grub Then it tries to recompile sys-devel/gcc-3.4.3.20050110-r1 with the multilib feature and that fails Today apparently a new glibc came in, I have updated everything in the world except for grub of course. I think this is a major feature as it holds me back from compiling my grub and gcc with multilib which is (I think) very important to 1: boot, 2: compile software Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.USE=multilib FEATURES=-sandbox emerge --update --deep --newuse gcc or 2.USE=multilib FEATURES=-sandbox emerge --update --deep --newuse grub even without the FEATURES (-sandbox) it has the same result. Without --deep gives no difference, without --newuse it just won't recompile the gcc which is needed I guess to compile 32-bit. Without multilib it just complains I need to use multilib and -sandbox.
