At the end of the pkg_postinst() function in the portage ebuild there is a section where the permissions and owner of distfiles are changed. The files are searched in /usr/portage/distfiles and ${PORTDIR}/distfiles. Isn't it missing the check for ${DISTDIR} directory (as on my box where the distfiles are not in the portage tree)? Yes, I have just seen the 2.0.51.22-r1 ebuild: the function has been removed! Why?
Looking through the batch of bugs, I'm not sure that some of these are actually fixed in stable. Others, the requirements have possibly changed after the initial fix was committed. If you think this bug has been closed incorrectly, please reopen or ask that it be reopened.
The bug doesn't exist anymore because now the portage ebuild (stable) hasn't the functionality of changing permissions and owner of distfiles. Thanks for your attention!
