Description:   Opened: 2005-02-15 02:49 0000 
checkroot uses awk which needs libexpat (when USE=xml) that is located in
/usr/lib. It is done before localmount so library can't be used when /usr is in
diffrent partition. Becouse of that whole start proces crashes and nobody can
login.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Only when /usr is mounted from diffrent partition
1. USE=xml emerge sys-libs/gawk-3.1.4-r3
2. reboot



Expected Results:  
Change checkroot or move libexpat to /lib

Please use "New -> Gentoo Linux -> Component: Ebuilds" in future.
Infrastructure is not the correct addressee.
