Hello, I've attached an ebuild for ipsvd-0.9.7. ipsvd is a package (by Gerrit Pape, developer of runit) that provides TCP and UDP service daemons (a la tcpserver and xinetd). Although tcpsvd does the same job as tcpserver, this package also provides udpsvd to UDP-ify any (connectionless) service; also, this package provides different options and rules format than tcpserver. You can find out more info at the project's homepage, <http://smarden.org/ipsvd/index.html>. Although this version does include optional support for a program called sslio, I have not included support for this program in the ebuild. I may later submit a new revision once I am sure that all dependencies are satisfied in the portage tree and I become more adept at writing ebuilds. Regards, Dean

Created attachment 47648 [details] ipsvd-0.9.7.ebuild updated This ebuild is updated with the correct license (BSD). I should also note that I used the socklog-1.5.0.ebuild (and the ebuild documentation) for guidance when making this ebuild, and I've tested it on my two x86 platforms.
Created attachment 47650 [details] ipsvd-0.9.7.ebuild updated This ebuild corrects one typo (that only got executed on "dobin" failure) and changes some non-critical coding style. Also, I should note that this ebuild (make, in particular) fails if it's executed in a work directory that has already run 'make'.

thanks for your patience! what category would you suggest for this one? sys-apps is out of question (even though ucspi-tcp resides there) i think... net-misc perhaps
(In reply to comment #7) > > what category would you suggest for this one? > ... > i think... net-misc perhaps net-misc sounds good to me.
in the tree as net-misc/ipsvd - the recent 0.13.0. thanks
