looks like a new gxine is out for 3 days (0.4.0 2004-12-11), which is strange as i read it was not maintained any more. it did not fix this problem for me, still the same crash (that could come from xine-lib itself)
Probable duplicate of bug 52374, assuming you are using nvidia drivers.
thanks for spoting this yes, i have nvidia-drivers (66.29) + kernel 2.6.10-rc3, gcc 3.4.3, glibc 2.3.4.20041102, xorg 6.8.0-r3 reproduced it with gxine 0.3.3-r1 and 0.4.0 (not in portage) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 52374 ***
