Hi, there's a new gst-plugins release can someone bump all gst-plugins* ebuilds? should be a simple copy&paste also there's a new plugin in this release, a musepack plugin... Bye
Created attachment 44964 [details] new gst-plugin ebuilds (esd, alsa and oss included) with digests Currently Rhythmbox is broken (media library never finishes updating its song list) and accoring to this bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159883 gst-plugins 0.8.6 should fix this. I've attached a file that you can untar into /usr/local/portage with the new ebuilds. The only thing I removed is the TCP patch from gst-plugins-0.8.5-r1 (I think it's fixed in 8.6)
This worked swell for me
Created attachment 46586 [details] gst-plugins-musepack-0.8.6.ebuild gst-plugins 0.8.6 now supports musepack audio. The attachment is an ebuild for this plugin, with media-libs/libmusepack-1.0.3 (stable version in portage) as dependency. gst-plugins.eclass must be modified too, adding "musepack" to the plugins list.
I'm sorry, musepack plugin compiles, but I can't get it working with .mpc files I've got. Both totem and rhythmbox hang when I play a musepack file.
UPDATE applying this patch (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=34460&action=view) to gstreamer 0.8.7 fixes the problem. now rhytmbox (CVS) and totem can play mpc files and nautilus do the audio preview when leaving the mouse over the icon.
sorry, this is the gnome bug report with the patch I linked, if someone is interested: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158162
Works for me... when will these ebuilds be included in the portage tree?
*** Bug 75678 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
gst-plugins and gst-plugins-musepack do not compile for me. I'll post the errors upon request.
My bad. I had the wrong version of libmusepack installed.. However, when playing back *.mpc files, the sound contains static. Other sound files play fine.
fixed, including new mpc plugin
