Yukon Marvel Gigabit ethernet 88E8053 is not supported on the 2004.3 universal livecd.
By the way this card should use sk98lin module presents on the cd but with no sucess. Module is correctly loaded, but nothing happens. No more information in logs.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot
2. modprobe sk98lin
3. ifconfig -a

Actual Results:  
just print out information about the loopback interface

Expected Results:  
eth0 + lo0

the mobo is an Asus P5AD2
the network chipset is integrated

Have you tried tg3 instead?

yes i've tried tg3 but it doesn't work

so i've installed a gentoo from stage3, and then i've compiled sk8lin sources provided by the manufacturer of the integrated network chip. Now it works.
