After having done the transition to profile 17.1, I can't build KPhotoAlbum anymore (neither the ebuild, nor a git clone). It doesn't find libexpat.so anymore. It searches (only) for /usr/lib/libexpat.so, but the library is now located at /usr/lib64/libexpat.so. Symlinking /usr/lib64/libexpat.so to /usr/lib/libexpat.so fixes the build, but I don't think this it how it's intended to be. If this is an issue with KPA's build system, please tell me so that we can fix it!
Not a kphotoalbum problem, rebuild expat.
This was the first thing I did before filing this bug ;-)
Problem might come from exiv2's cmake-config instead.
Okay, rebuilding exiv2 actually fixed it. Thanks for the info! But of course, it would be nice if this was done automatically during the update, as this is not really clear at first sight ...
There is no mechanism to detect this breakage caused by the profile switch other than manually checking dependencies' .pc and .cmake files.
It is probably time to consolidate this with the parent bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 644538 ***
