Description Mike Messmore 2004-10-07 13:09:50 UTC
Ran an emerge --update world just now, and when it tried to compile sys-devel/binutils-2.15.92.0.2 the compilation failed requiring libgettextlib-0.14.1.so.

I assume this is included in gettext-0.14.1, but said package is currently masked with the comment:
- sys-devel/gettext-0.14.1 (masked by: package.mask)
# <vapier@gentoo.org> (07 Oct 2004)
# Installs with a few bad linked executables #66449

binutils-2.15.92.0.2, however, is not masked.

Soooo. Either binutils-2.15.92.0.2 should be masked with a comment about it requiring gettext-0.14.1, or gettext-0.14.1(-r?) should be unmasked to provide libgettextlib-0.14.1.so.

Also the ebuild for binutils-2.15.92.0.2 should specify this requirement.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge binutils (w/ ~i386)
