Looks like as the much delayed request in bug #644254 for 2.6 went out for stabilization, a new stable release was announced shortly there after just as you all stabilized everything. 2.7 appears to fix a bug I encountered with nested tmux sessions and text with combining chars (no idea if it might possibly impact any complicated curses text layout in general?) where rendering of complex unicode (I used zalgo as a test, was taking exponentially more time with each nesting. For short zalgo test tmux (0s) tmux+tmux (5s) tmux+tmux+tmux (15 minutes). By contrast in 2.7 I had to nest 7x to even get a noticeable delay in text. Apparently tmux 2.8 will be out in a few months BTW.
