in /home/aben/ i have this:
lrwxrwxrwx    1 aben core   7 Sep 29 08:52 .kde -> .kde3.3

this is not functional symlink automatic created by kde.
if i remove this symlink, kde created it again.

hups! :)
not in /home/aben/, but in /home/aben/.kde i have
this symlink. :)

The symlink is used by Gentoo to allow multiple KDE versions installed side by side. But the current implementation is not bug free...
