Here is a first-draft ebuild for rkward, a graphical (KDE) frontend to the R statistics language. Info can be found at http://rkward.sf.net. It would probably fit best in app-sci. NOTE: This ebuild has a sandbox violation, which I haven't tried too hard to fix yet. It appears to just be accessing some Qt lockfile. (This is my first ebuild, and I've only been using gentoo for 2 weeks, so forgive this ebuild's roughness!)

Created attachment 74763 [details] rkward-0.3.4.ebuild Here is another ebuild, hopefully this will work better. There still needs to be a pre_rm custom function to uninstall the R package.
Created attachment 74764 [details] rkward-0.3.4.ebuild correct mime type on ebuild file
Created attachment 74766 [details] rkward-0.3.4.ebuild uninstall the R package in pre_rm This should do the trick. Please push this into portage, looks like a nice application.
The ebuild provided works on x86, but there's also a (runtime-)dependency for php (maybe others as well). The category app-sci is not available yet, I'd suggest sci-misc instead.
I already had an ebuild for this (its in sunrise: http://www.gentoo-sunrise.org/sunrise/browser/reviewed/sci-misc/rkward ), but its totally different from the one posted here. Please have a look at it and see if it provides the same functionality - it is a lot simpler.
Created attachment 108388 [details] rkward-0.4.5.ebuild Adding a bump to version 0.4.5. Based on sunrise 0.4.0. - PHP moved to RDEPEND since it's not required for compilation (strictly speaking the software runs even without PHP installed). - added ~amd64, since it compiles and works.
Also please note that Gentoo Science also holds a it's own version of ebuild in another category: http://gentooscience.org/browser/overlay/sci-mathematics/rkward
in cvs. thanks.
