This is same request as #42328, would someone mark freetype-2.19 as stable instead of current 2.1.5, which is tool old for example for xc/ manual compilation (also filed as bugreport)?
Truetype is supported via freetype in current mozilla/firefox/thunderbird ebuilds. SVG is supported via cairo in mozilla-1.7.3-r3 and firefox-1.0-r3 if you have USE=mozsvg.
