Description kwant 2004-08-21 03:42:02 UTC
Many 3rd older apps (like matlab) don't work with NTPL. It produce error like:
(...)version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6(...)
Workaround of this problem is disabling NTPL for this apps. Some distros does it by "setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1" (and patched glibc ofcourse). Unfortunatelly this workaround don't work with gentoo (as i known).
I Found unofficial glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r1.ebuild that works with "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL", however, it's old...

Is there any other way to work with NTPL and older apps? I don't want to disable NTPL and wait for newer version of apps like matlab, mapple, etc...

Do you consider support for "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL" or other mechanism?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.
