"emerge mozilla" or "emerge /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla/mozilla-1.0-r3.ebuild"
give me the same problem :

!!! Error: couldn't find match for : in net-www/mozilla-1.0-r3

So, i could'nt emerge mozilla, galeon, evolution, ...

(i've done a "emerge rsync" just before "emerge mozilla")

It works now with "emerge portage" + "emerge rsync" + "emerge mozilla" !
