Hi! Please find attached xta-0.01.ebuild xtla is a emacs front-end to the arch version control system. The arch version control system is already in portage under dev-util/tla. You could call tla a modern and better CVS, if you please. I suggest app-xemacs/xtla. Please note that the author does not specify a version number, so the 0.01 is just a bogus number. I'm not sure if this is the way to work around this issue. The ebuild should be renamable without any impact. Please be gentle --- this is my first real ebuild :) Esben
Created attachment 36483 [details] xtla ebuild
I have xtla installed from the latest arch version. It doesn't depend on xemacs in anyway.
Created attachment 39006 [details] Ebuild for xtla 0.9 alpha Of course xtla depends on XEmacs --- it's a elisp package! And there is a similar package now under app-emacs/xtla. If there is a reason why this package is ignored, please do tell and I'll fix it directly. Anyway, here's a version bump. It appear that the first released version will be 0.9, so I'm calling the release until then 0.9_alpha. Also, the build I submitted earlier to XEmacs didn't work too well --- this one appears to do so. Use/ignore.
What I meant is that a the package or a similar package should be created for Emacs because xtla work just fine with my emacs-cvs version. Anyway I can see that it's now here so I remove myself from this bug.
I still don't get it. emerge app-emacs/xtla won't get you xtla in XEmacs --- and there is plenty of packages that are common between app-emacs and app-xemacs. I would still love to see this one committed. From IRC I gather that this bug is wrongly assigned in any case :-/
Sorry for not reassigning it to xemacs herd.
xtla 0.9 was released recently. I've adjusted the ebuild accordingly.
Created attachment 43535 [details] Version 0.9 (first official release) use/ignore.
Created attachment 45826 [details, diff] patch from xtla-0.1_p525 to xtla-0.9 There is now a more official 0.9 release. The xtla ebuild already in the tree can be simplified a bit when you use this one: the configure doesn't need to be redone as far as I can tell, and the version number is more sane.
version 1.0 is out since a while now.
I'm going to update xtla to 1.0 for app-emacs/xtla
app-emacs/xtla-1.0 in portage, closing.
