Can i have some more info please? The more the better. When do they crash (on startup, afte running for some time, etc.), how to reproduce it, output whenrunning from konsole (and crashing), etc. etc.

There is not too much to add, both apps crash on start ( i. e. you start them
and they crash
before mapping a window ). You get kde crash dialog. I have tested this on 2
separate clean installs of gentoo. It is possible that thareason is that both
apps do not correctly define KDE paths and cannot find images that they need.

Is there any output when running from an xterm/konsole? If in fact it can't find some files, there should be output to indicate this. Also, if only these two apps crash, it may be something to do with what they do - display data from /proc (I'm not sure they get it from there). Do other similar apps, like ksysguard and its konqueror applet, work?
