After emerging xfree, and following the instructions on http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/dri-howto.xml to install an accelerated X-server, I always get a 'Fatal server error'

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge system
2. emerge xfree x11-base/xfree (x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r5) 
3. emerge x11-base/xfree-drm-4.3.0-r7 
Actual Results:  
I am not able to start X

Expected Results:  
Start X
