Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2015-01-03 10:38:23 UTC
Per old bug 216300 we should use "xmpp" instead of "jabber", but looks like that rule is often forgot and, then, we still have a lot of ebuilds using old name and people forgetting to take advantage of new revisions to fix it. Maybe would be useful to remember all of us that we need to rename it next time we try to commit an ebuild using old USE :)

Thanks

how about adding more generally a "use flag blacklist"?
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2015-01-03 10:59:29 UTC
That would be nice :D (or, even better, that blacklist could be stored in a place we can update without needing to update all the portage package for everyone ;))

i see 6 ebuilds (over 5 packages) still using USE=jabber. why not update them and then delete jabber from use.desc ? then people will get a warning because it's no longer a global use flag.

Oh, this bug. You will see that some days ago I went ahead and fixed most of the pending packages directly ;)
