Description alex.shultz 2004-05-26 16:10:18 UTC
'emerge tikiwiki' gives this message before emerging:

 * Ebuilds (like this one) that use the webapp-apache.eclass need to
 * be converted to use the new webapp.eclass, to be compatible with
 * webapp-config.
 *
 * Please file a bug on http://bugs.gentoo.org/, stating that this
 * ebuild needs converting to use the new approach.
 * Installing for Apache v2

I wish I could say I understood what that meant but I am trying to figure out how to get tikiwiki working and figured that maybe this was the problem. Didn't see it listed when i searched for "ALL tikiwiki" so I hope it's not duped somewhere I didn't think to look.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge tikiwiki
2.
3.

Actual Results:
tikiwiki emerged without any further complaint.

I did 'emerge apache' and then '/etc/init.d/apache2 start' before the 'emerge
tikiwiki'.

tikiwiki-1.8.2-r1.ebuild

maybe someone could review this.
install works, db setup fails

dunno why
Comment 2 Gunnar Wrobel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-02 08:07:38 UTC
The message you see has only an informational value. Nothing about the tikiwiki install process actually failed.

Problems in the configuration of tikiwiki after installing it should be directed to the tikiwiki help forums.

tikiwiki-1.8.2-r2.ebuild

Added MySQL to depend since it didn't seem to get emerged. Added PHP and MySQL
versions. Commented out webapp_postinst_txt en ${FILESDIR}/postinstall-en.txt
since that file doesn't exist.	Added post-installation messages from
tikiwiki-1.8.2.ebuild.

TikiWiki ebuild revised for webapp.eclass support (update)

Updated ebuild for TikiWiki 1.8.2 to support webapp.eclass.

Similar to earlier attachments except that it recursively assigns server
ownership to a list of directories extracted from the package's own setup.sh
script. The earlier attempt was not recursive and had problem with
post-install setup.

There is no build or run-time dependency on MySQL.

TikiWiki ebuild revised for webapp.eclass support (new)

New ebuild for TikiWiki 1.8.3 to support webapp.eclass.
TikiWiki 1.8.3 was released on 4 June 2004

Almost identical to -1.8.2-r1 except for a few directories.

Another ebuild for this version was previously submitted by Gunnar Wrobel to
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52365: the bug had been marked RESOLVED
INVLAID.
